The adventure begins in Laredo (USA) and documents a trip through Central and South America to Buenos Aires (Argentina).
The film “PanAmericana” tells stories of lifes on and around the Panamericana. It illustrates unique natural beauty, contrasts of wealth and poverty, the importance of money as well as the tireless life’s longest consecutive road network in the world, from northern Alaska to southern Chile.
The film will be shot on the original historic route between Laredo (USA) and Buenos Aires (Argentina). The idea of a single cross-continental highway was at the Fifth International Conference of American States in 1923. To consolidate peace, the convention on the Carretera Panamericana finally got signed on 23 December 1936 at the Inter-American Conference in Buenos Aires.
Main actors of this film are natives, which will meet us on this great adventure. This fact will help us to get the maximum of authentic situations before our camera lenses.

la aventura comienza en laredo (USA) y documenta un viaje hasta buenos aires (argentina), pasando por centro- y sudamerica. la pelicula “panamericana” cuenta historias de la vida, que pasan en la y al rededor de la carretera panamericana. aquella ilustra las maravillas de la naturaleza, contrastos de riqueza y pobreza, el significado del dinero como tambien la vida incansanble en la carretera mas larga del mundo que alcanza desde el norte de alaska hacia el sur de chile.
la pelicula surgira en la ruta original entre laredo (USA) y buenos aires (argentina). la idea de una misma carretera trascendental de dos continentes ha surgido en la quinta conferencia internacional de los estados americanos en el año 1923. para solidar la paz se firmo la convencion de la carretera panamericana en la conferencia interamericana en buenos aires, en el año 1936.

Das Abenteuer beginnt in Laredo (USA) und dokumentiert eine Reise durch Mittel- und Südamerika bis nach Buenos Aires (Argentinien).
Der Film “Pánamericana” erzählt Geschichten, die das Leben an der und rund um die Panamericana schreibt. Er illustriert einzigartige Naturschönheiten, Kontraste von Reichtum und Armut, die Bedeutung von Geld sowie das unermüdliche Leben am längsten zusammenhängenden Strassennetz der Welt, das vom nördlichen Alaska bis ins südliche Chile reicht.
Der Film wird auf der historischen Originalroute zwischen Laredo (USA) und Buenos Aires (Argentinien) gedreht. Die Idee einer einzigen kontinentübergreifenden Schnellstrasse entstand auf der Fünften Internationalen Konferenz der Amerikanischen Staaten im Jahre 1923. Zur Festigung des Friedens wurde die Konvention über die Carretera Panamericana schliesslich am 23. Dezember 1936 auf der Interamerikanischen Konferenz in Buenos Aires unterzeichnet.
Hauptdarsteller dieses Dok-Filmes sind Einheimische, welche uns auf dieser grossen Reise begegnen. Diese Gegebenheit nutzen wir bewusst um möglichst authentische, ungestellte Situationen vor die Linse zu bekommen.

I’m sure you’ll enjoy Panama, I saw in the map that you might be going from here to Colombia through the Panama Canal? Be sure to do a trip in the East though, if you only visit the West, you will lose most of the fun…
